In the frame of the opening Festival of RomArchive, starting in January 2019, RomArchive, the Digital Archive of the Roma, will make Romani arts and cultures visible and illustrate their contribution to European cultural history. For the first time, counter-narratives told by Roma themselves will create an internationally accessible, reliable source of knowledge on the internet, which will counter stereotypes and prejudices with facts.

To mark the publication of the archive website, the interdisciplinary festival “Performing RomArchive” will show the wealth and diversity of Romani cultural and artistic production. The programme in Berlin, Bucharest and Budapest will surprise, inspire and stimulate discussion.

Eröffnungsfestival „Performing RomArchive“

RomArchive, das digitale Archiv der Sinti und Roma, wird ab Januar 2019 Künste und Kulturen der Sinti und Roma sichtbar machen und ihren Beitrag zur europäischen Kulturgeschichte veranschaulichen. Erstmals wird so durch selbst erzählte Gegengeschichten eine im Internet international zugängliche, verlässliche Wissensquelle entstehen, die Stereotypen und Vorurteilen mit Fakten begegnet.

Anlässlich der Veröffentlichung der Archiv-Webseite wird das interdisziplinäre Festival „Performing RomArchive“ ganz analog den Reichtum und die Vielseitigkeit der Kultur- und Kunstproduktion von Sinti und Roma zeigen. Das Programm in Berlin, Bukarest und Budapest möchte überraschen, begeistern und zu Diskussionen anregen.
