auf unserer nächsten Poetry Night präsentieren wir vertonte Liebeslyrik aus der persischen und arabischen Literatur.
Es wird live musiziert, modern performed und traditionell Platz genommen, nämlich, wie gewohnt auf handgeknüpften antiken Teppichen und leuchtenden Nomadenkelims.

Poetry Nights – Oriental Cultural Heritage meets Berlin Scene

Poetry Nights is a new cultural format in Berlin. It combines poetry, acting and music. The viewer is immediately involved in the performance while sitting on antique Persian carpets and being surrounded by antiquities from Asia and the Middle East.

Two young Berliners, originally coming from the Middle East, reinterpret traditional and classic poetry. They read texts by Hafez, Rumi, as well as modern lyrics by Forugh Farrokhzad and Nazik Al-Malaika and thus inspire young people through literature and poetry.

Galerist Anahita Sadighi („Youngest Art Dealer of Berlin“) and actress Susana AbdulMajid present classic persian and arabic literature and strong female voices, that proof that the great art of oriental poetry is not exclusively dominated by men. Women in arabic and persian poetry are wise, cheeky and self-evident.
